Apologies for missing the normal Tuesday posting. However, my son, Milo was born today! So yeah, I had a good excuse.
I’m only quickly stopping off at the house to do a couple of things before I head back to the hospital but I figured I’d post up a quick posting of this week’s song to try to make sure we got something out there this week.
This week’s song, the Department Luncheon is part of “The Daily Routine” set as the lyrical ideas behind the song stem from some of the frustration I’ve felt recently with my current contract at work.
Anyways, here are the song lyrics for anyone interested:
All stands tall in the institution.
It’s what we all depend on.
We’ve got to believe, we’ve got to believe
We’re right.
How could all this be here
if it didn’t serve a purpose
serving the drinks
is all that I know.
However, there’s a wrinkle
in the fabric
It’s just a little tear now
but tears have tendencies to break
Somehow the process is breaking down
Somewhere we’ve got ourselves a leak
We’re all going down
We’re all sinking with the ship.
Just how many times will
we process the same thing
over and over without
a solution.
The answer is in here somewhere.
We just have to find the meaning.
The meaning we lost long ago.
Before all the wars.
Before all the habits.
Before all the luxuries we’ve all come to love
Before all the gorging
on feasts unentitled to
there just must have been a reason I came into this room…
now I just need to remember what it is.
