Switchback is a loose jam driven by spontaneous mixtures of percussion and the melodic flow of synths. The various synthesized sounds roll back and forth often cutting back in a hairpin manner along with a smattering of drums sounds clattering often in a drum-circle-like feel.
Opium Spice
Opium Spice has a playful hazy feel to it, feeling much like a whisps of smoke from a pipe sometimes in the way it moves in random directions carelessly. The guitar work seems to aimlessly wander feeling slightly disconnected at times but connecting with the other sounds enough to keep the feel coherent. The synth sounds create an expansive environment filling the room as the drums drive the piece forward with determination.
Forest Fairies on Crack
An odd one this week, Forest Fairies on Crack has a strange whimsical feel mixed with just a touch of chaos and madness.
The Boglands
A primarily atmospheric piece, The Boglands, reminds me of a dreary journey across dark treacherous landscape.
The synth’s buzz out as if they were insects in the night, circling around just beyond vision.
The light percussion and bass drag along as if plodding determinedly across the land.
