Our most recent release and the last of these archived album free downloads, S+G is the beginning of some work we were putting together for a film that Neil scripted. We began filming the work but ran into some technical issues that delayed our progress on it. However, we thought it was still worthwhile to release some of the music we’d put together for the soundtrack into this short EP.

Thugs – Thugs was entirely written using FL Studio on my old dying IBM laptop. I remember actually putting the song together with my son. I’d put some sounds down and then ask him his thoughts and he’d give me additional ideas. It was a pretty fun task putting it together.
Street Corner – Street Corner, also written with FL Studio, was an attempt at putting together the most minimal song I could compose yet still feel like it was connected together. A very chill piece, it gives the feeling of walking through dark streets at night.
Cannibal – Cannibal is one of my favorite compositions we’ve worked on as chilljam. The song addresses the tremendous greed that led to the recent economic recession we’ve been experiencing over the last year or so. The basic drum line was created through FL Studio. Neil added some crazy saxophone work on top of it and then Jeremy layered everything together into the final product.
Reinvent Ourselves – This was a fun one to do. One day Beavis and I went over to Jeremy’s to jam on some stuff. Jeremy put together most of this track before our arrival so that we’d have something to work with. We took turns layering sounds on top of the work Jeremy did. Beavis put together the sweet guitar line here and then I combined two sets of lyrics I’d written to work as the vocal line for the song. Then after Beavis had to go, I sang another set of lyrics on top to chorus on top of my original vocals.
