I’m really diggin all the different iPhone apps there are that I can use for recording. This track features the Wobble app, which makes that dub-step type bass sound. It also supplied the beat to the song. I also layered sounds from my Alesis and Rhodes.

So, I thought I had lost this mix one day, but thank goodness I found it on my computer. This is unique in that the beat comes from my old casio keyboard that has preset drum loops with some auto-fills and different drum sounds I could alter when the beat is playing. I recorded a scratching sound on the synth at the same time the beat was playing, and then added several other layers with both the casio and synth.

This track is a result of a improvised jam session with Anthony Shawn and myself (Jeremy Scott). We jammed for a couple hours one night in the new studio and recorded some cool sounds. This one is a pretty simple little groove with a cool bass line. The MEAT! of the song is about 1:50 into it.

In the past, we’ve recorded tracks in layers, starting with the beat and then adding synthesizers sounds on top. A couple of these tracks I’m talking about are Concrete and Fruity. Fruity being one of my favorite out of the two. So, we are revisiting this experiment with Anthony Shawn and myself, and calling the project Old Jessup, but this time, we’re coming up with this stuff live. Stay tuned for more of Old Jessup.

So it’s been a while since I last posted, but this one has been in the works for a little while and I finally finished it up last weekend. I started this with a simple beat I created on my iPhone app called EasyBeats 2, it’s a great app. Once I got the basic beat, I imported into my digitial recorded and layered some more beats along with some sounds from my synth. I then put the final touch on it with my very first keyboard ever, a casio, which was running through a guitar amplifier effect processor, which is the lead sound you hear in the track. The EasyBeat app makes it easy for me to create beats on the fly where ever I am, very simple to use.

Here’s a solo piece I created with sounds from my Alesis accompanied by the Rhodes. This was inspired by the healing sounds the Rhodes can produce. I find the Rhodes to be very soothing and wanted to create a Chakara healing sound with it. I’ve been doing some research and find it very interesting how different keys can “tune” or “heal” different Chakara’s throughout the body. I’m sure this is why I get a relaxing feeling after playing the Rhodes.

This beat has a little twist from the previous stuff we’ve been doing, which has been mostly dub-step type beats. This is a very nice blend of digital and analog sounds.

Here’s another mix with an awesome beat provided by Anthony Shawn. I layered some chops with a sound I create out of my Casio keyboard along with some popping bass sounds from my Alesis. Very nice groove, we’re really starting to get into a good rhythm with passing beats back and forth. This one is a demo version as we plan on adding some vocals to it later on, but it’s worth posting as is.
